dominion: an exclusive forum for global and indian cxos launched in bangalore.
a unique confluence of business and academia for creating leadership through executive education and peer networking.
BANGALORE MAY 29, 2008: Dominion, an exclusive CXO forum was today launched in the
city by Chairman and Founder, Romi Malhotra, ex-Managing Director of Dell International
Services, India. Dominion is jointly promoted by Romi Malhotra and Bangalore Management
Academy, represented by Robert Donison, Founder and Managing Director of London School
of Commerce, UK and the Bangalore Management Academy.
Speaking on this unique forum Romi Malhotra said, “The key leadership which drives any
organization is the small group at the CXO level. The nature of interventions required to
better equip this group goes beyond the traditional and we have found companies struggle
and spend huge amounts for disproportionately lower returns. Getting the right mix of
executive education, peer group interaction, awareness and continuity for this group is
Dominion’s mandate.”
Dominion is based on a corporate membership model where membership is by invitation
only. Member organizations have access to a wide range of services that include workshops
and seminars by global practitioners, outstanding academicians and Ivy League Faculty.
While the initial focus will be on learning and networking for CXOs. Other offerings like
executive coaching, consulting and research will follow.
Robert Donison highlighted the need for the forum saying, “India is already the hotbed of
change. The pace of change combined with lofty growth in Indian industry has put the
leadership to test like never before. The good news, however, is that there are others who
have been through this earlier, and there is enough to learn from Universities like Harvard,
Oxford and Cambridge amongst others who have done extensive work to research the
science of leadership. Our intent is to make that content available conjunct with an
appreciation of the current local challenges.”
Executive education for Dominion is being spearheaded by some of the most pre-eminent
academicians - Tim Cullen and Sherman D Roberts who are both Presidents and Chair the
curriculum development and executive education for Dominion respectively.
Dominion is starting its preliminary activities with the launch of the Bangalore Chapter and
a two –day workshop on 2nd of June 2008.
The first in the series of interventions for a group of high powered CXOs will feature
luminaries like Aubrey C. Daniels, Ph.D., the world’s foremost authority on applying the
scientifically-proven laws of human behavior to the workplace: Iris Bohnet, Associate
Professor of Public Policy and Faculty Chair of the Women and Public Policy Program at
Harvard University’s Kennedy School, where she teaches negotiation and behavioral
decision analysis: and Gary Orren of Harvard University, Professor of Public Policy and
Management.
The future plans for Dominion include regional Dominion Chapters across India, followed
by Asia and Australia. |
